Our
Philosophy & Mission Statement
The Cheshire County Federal Credit Union is committed
to providing our members with the best possible personal
service. We strive to provide accurate, expedient service
to our members. We will continue to strive to be our
members' financial institution of choice by providing
financial information and services to meet and/or exceed
their needs, through growth and by keeping pace with
technology.
We are a federally chartered financial institution,
insured by NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration.
We are examined by NCUA, as well as independent auditors
on a yearly basis, as regulated by NCUA.
About Our History
The Cheshire County Federal Credit Union started as
K.M.T.C. Employees Federal Credit Union in June of 1959
as an additional benefit that Kingsbury Machine Tool
Corporation could offer prospective employees. The field
of membership at that time was limited to employees
of the manufacturing company and their immediate family
members only.
When the credit union first opened, there were 10 member
accounts, mostly supervisors and managers of KMTC. Members
had to purchase 1 share at $5.00 each. Our services
were simple share (savings) accounts and small loans.
The Credit Union has gone through many changes since
we first opened in 1959. We have expanded our services
substantially. One of the most important changes has
been expanding our field of membership. We are no longer
restricted to Kingsbury Corporation employees and family
members. As of June 2005, membership is open to anyone
who "works, worships, or attends school" in
Cheshire County.
